A good photo gives AI its best chance
LesEye suggests species automatically and always gives its best guess. Clear, well-lit and well-framed photos give more reliable results; dark, blurry, distant or obstructed photos may be labelled with the wrong species. We mark uncertain results so you know which photo needs a closer look.

Aim at body height
Mount the camera about 0.75–1 m above the ground so it captures a deer or boar's body, not only its back.

Clear the foreground
Remove grass, twigs and branches in front of the lens. They hide the animal, blur the frame and cause false triggers.

Avoid direct sun
Point roughly north or away from low sun. Backlight turns the animal into a silhouette that is hard to identify.

Frame the path 2–5 m out
Too far and the animal is a tiny speck; too close and it may be motion-blurred or overexposed by infrared light at night.

Clean lens, stable mount
Wipe away dew, mud and spider webs, and strap the camera to a solid trunk. Camera movement blurs every frame.
Night recognition is harder: infrared frames are grainier and have no colour. Place the camera where animals pass close enough to be well illuminated.
How recognition works
Is recognition always correct?
No. AI gives a best guess, not a certainty. Clear photos give more reliable results, but a dark, blurry, distant or partly hidden animal may get the wrong label. LesEye marks uncertain guesses — always glance at the photo and check the result.
Why did LesEye show the wrong animal?
The usual cause is missing detail: the animal is far away, moving, behind grass or captured in a grainy night frame. Check the photo and use the placement tips above to make the next results more reliable.
